Skilled Worker
The Skilled Worker route is for employers to recruit people to work in the UK in a specific job. This visa has replaced the Tier 2 (General) work visa.
To qualify, applicants must secure a job offer from a UK employer with a valid Certificate of Sponsorship (COS). The applicant must meet specific criteria, including a minimum salary requirement, English language proficiency and financial stability.
UK Skilled Worker Visa is a long-term work visa and can be initially granted for a period of up to five years depending on the duration of your Certificate of Sponsorship. It is important to note that your visa is only valid as long as you remain in the same role with your sponsoring employer. If you wish to change roles or employer, you will need to apply for a new Skilled Worker visa.
Dependents, including spouses, partners, and children, can join the visa holder in the UK and may also be eligible to work or study.
After residing in the UK for a certain period (usually 5 years), Skilled Worker Visa holders can apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR), which allows them to settle permanently in the UK.
